Advocacy Committee (Ann Fonfa Chair)
Meets with elected officials to promote FBCF's views on key breast cancer priority legislation at both the federal and state level; helps recruit people to join our e-alert system; builds activities in FBCF designated new districts (as designated by Board of Directors).
Development Committee (Amy Brito Chair)
Ensures that the organization's total fundraising program is in concert with the organization's strategic direction and needs. The committee serves as the mechanism by which board members and other volunteers are involved in the fundraising process. Committee develops and presents to the board the annual fundraising plan.
Events Committee (Gayle Jacobs Chair and Carolyn Dougherty Co-Chair)
Works to produce both large and small fundraising special events for the organization.
Education Committee (Dr. Shahla Masood Chair)
Reviews and makes recommendations to the board on funding of educational grants; works to ensure FBCF is represented at health fairs and other public events; oversees speaker's bureau.
Speakers' Bureau Committee
After receiving FBCF training, speaker bureau committee members respond to requests to speak in the community.
Finance Committee (Lowell Rush Chair)
Oversees the organizational financial planning; drafts organizational fiscal policies; prepares and monitors budget; ensures that all federal and state fiscal forms are filed in a timely manners.
Marketing and PR Committee (Dori Mirkow Chair)
Ensures that all communications reflect a positive public image; helps prepare and distribute publicity about FBCF programs and activities.
Newsletter Committee
Assist to research, write, and edit monthly e-newsletter and quarterly hard-copy organizational newsletter.
Volunteer Committee
Volunteers help out in the office with clerical functions; help make calls to thank donors for their contributions; help staff FBCF tables at community events; help distribute approved FBCF materials.
Scientific Committee (Dr. Robert Derhagopian Chair and Dr. Enrique Mesri Co-Chair)
Reviews scientific grant proposals and makes recommendations on funding to the board; analyzes the opportunity for development of FBCF research fellows.
